Native American Presentation
Ginny Blankenship is honored to share some incredible understandings of the Native Peoples of our area. Her knowledge of these people comes from many years of study, years of knowing them personally, and her own inner mysterious attraction to their culture since she was a very young child. Some of what she will share are many unknown facts, a sharing of their spiritual beliefs and some special characteristics that tend to set them apart from most people. Honoring our past brings us wisdom and understanding of life. Ginny hopes to see many interested hearts and minds. Recommended age is 16 years and up.
Daniel Boone Paint Out
Welcome Visitors: The public is invited to visit The Historic Boone Home is nestled upon the rolling hills of wine country and overlooks the Femme Osage Valley. This beautiful setting represents life in the early 1800s and brings the legacy of Daniel Boone to life. Within the thick limestone walls, stories of a daring man offer a glimpse into family matters, risky adventures and hard-fought battles. The nearly 300-acre site includes The Historic Daniel Boone Home, adjoining Village historic site, and surrounding property. The dozen buildings in the village originated from within 50 miles of the property. The general store, schoolhouse and grist mill offer a peek into life on the Missouri frontier.
Artist Details:
Paint Out 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM judging. The Historic Boone Home and 1800s Village area has been preserved and turned into beautiful parkland and living history museum. A unique setting with picturesque views, interesting architecture and method actors to delight your creative talents.The $500 purchase prize provided by Lindenwood University.
